CLI 1.13.43 or newer. The project stores the database ID only. Static hosting serves built websites; application servers need a separate runtime.
Store keys in server environment variables. Your application must enforce its own end-user permissions.
Read keys can query data. Write keys can change rows. Builder keys can also manage tables and schema. These are SQLite and REST interfaces; auth, realtime subscriptions and object storage are separate services.
Secrets are shown once. Revoking a key also disables builder connections that use it.
Database storage is separate from hosting. After a paid plan expires, data stays available to read and back up; writes resume when a plan is activated. Existing databases retain their migration allowance until the first paid plan.
Database API: 120 requests per minute per account. A query returns at most 500 rows or 2 MB. Long queries are stopped before committing changes.
